Under compatibility where you set run as admin also select at the bottom "Change for ALL users"Īnd save and close. Then for the paradox launcher.exe in the window you get when you right click on it and select properties. Run as admin by right clicking the file and selecting properties and then compatibility. Give Stellaris.exe, dowser.exe( in the game folder), Bootstrapperv2 and paradox launcher v2 both found in the "C:\Users\.\AppData\Local\Programs\Paradox Interactive orĬ:\Users\Dave\AppData\Local\Programs\Paradox Interactive\launcher-v2.2019.10.4 Some of this may not be necessary but it works. I NOW HAVE THE LAUNCHER WORKING FINE and tested it by launching my new game with the resume button fine.
Running as an administrator does not give it the required permissions to run the various files. Out of frustration I checked on "elevation errors" and apparently it is internal windows security causing the issues. In discussions with Paradox tech support we tried everything from deleting files and re-installs but the launcher failed. However the launcher still failed but the game ran from the exe fine. exe and not from the launcher after I followed these instructions from an old post Heres the fix description from the stellaris/steam forum: I thought it only fair to report this here so other can benefit from it. However, the same fix that worked for stellaris worked for planetfall too and everything works just fine now. Turns out the fix for stellaris shot planetfall down. same as with stellaris just a couple days prior. i recently encountered the problem that the game didnt start.
